Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management activities across our construction projects. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of quantity surveying, from pre‑contract estimates to post‑contract close‑out, ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies.
• Manage and review bills of quantities, tender documents and procurement strategies.
• Support risk analysis and value‑engineering exercises.
• Administer contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC or local forms) and negotiate tenders and subcontractor agreements.
• Monitor contract compliance, change management and cost control, providing forecasts and variance mitigation.
• Approve and certify interim payments, variations and claims; produce monthly cost reports and financial dashboards.
• Mentor junior QS staff and coordinate with project managers, engineers and finance teams.
• Prepare final accounts, support audits, and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional accreditation such as RICS, CIArb, ICE or local equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead QS role.
• Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and cost management processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cost management software such as Candy, CostX and advanced Excel.
