Golf Course Manager

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Golf Course Manager to oversee daily operations, maintenance, and appearance of a US Navy golf facility on Diego Garcia. The role ensures the course remains safe, playable, and compliant with company policies and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise daily golf course maintenance and groundskeeping activities.
• Assign and track work orders, schedule staff, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Manage mowing, trimming, edging, fertilization, irrigation, landscaping, and overall turf health.
• Inspect and repair infrastructure such as cart paths, parking areas, bridges, bunkers and amenities.
• Monitor irrigation and drainage systems to prevent flooding and maintain healthy turf.
• Oversee tree trimming, brush removal, weed control and vegetation management.
• Coordinate erosion control and landscape improvement projects.
• Ensure equipment is inspected, serviced, repaired and operated safely.
• Train and supervise staff on equipment use, safety procedures and best practices.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, chemicals and materials, and produce regular maintenance reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agriculture, Facilities Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in golf course or grounds maintenance.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, landscaping equipment and turf management.
