Legal Drafter (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Financial Services Authority is seeking a Legal Drafter on a fixed‑term basis to act as a technical advisor to the CEO. The role involves translating complex regulatory policy into clear, enforceable legal instruments that align with international standards and the Seychelles context.

Key responsibilities

• Draft amendments to Acts, statutory instruments and sector legislation, including emerging areas such as fintech and digital assets.
• Convert policy decisions into directives, rules, codes of practice and guidance notes.
• Prepare and negotiate MoUs with foreign regulators and review commercial and procurement contracts.
• Conduct legal vetting of policy proposals, identifying gaps and inconsistencies.
• Develop drafting templates, a style guide and maintain a database of all legal instruments.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admission to the Bar in Seychelles or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Certificate or Diploma in Legislative Drafting (essential); LLM in Financial Regulation preferred.
• Minimum five years post‑qualification experience, with at least three years in legislative drafting.
• Excellent command of legal English and ability to draft in plain language while preserving legal certainty.
