Synchrolift Support Hand – US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Synchrolift Support Hand to join a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will assist with dry‑docking and undocking operations, ensuring vessels are safely positioned and secured using the Synchrolift system.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with dry‑docking and undocking evolutions using the Synchrolift system.
• Handle lines, operate capstans, transfer tractors and other docking equipment.
• Support vessel alignment, positioning, and securing during docking procedures.
• Perform underwater tasks as a qualified diver/swimmer when required.
• Prepare and submit Dive Plans and Safety Briefs for diving activities.
• Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on docking equipment and tools.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members to ensure safe and efficient task completion.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience handling lines, operating capstans, and driving transfer tractors.
• Qualified diver/swimmer with knowledge of diving safety procedures.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.
• Proficient English reading, speaking, and comprehension.
