Accountant – Finance Operations (Tajikistan)

About the role

SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group, is seeking an Accountant to support its financial operations in Tajikistan. The role will integrate with the regional finance structure, collaborating closely with the Georgian Finance team and handling both project and corporate accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
• Process accounts payable and receivable.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Assist in budget preparation and cost tracking for projects.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate reporting and reconciliations with regional finance teams.
• Support audits, financial reviews, and payroll administration as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3‑7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a project‑based or consultancy environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with Tajikistan tax and regulatory requirements.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with regional teams.
• Fluency in the local language; working knowledge of English is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting systems.
