Construction Supervisor – Cost Estimating

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Construction Supervisor to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on developing accurate cost estimates for construction and engineering projects and supporting proposal development for government contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates using RFP documents, drawings, specifications, historical data and pricing information.
• Plan and sequence construction activities, identifying labor, material, equipment and subcontractor requirements.
• Analyze construction documents, blueprints and bills of material to determine production costs.
• Calculate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor and other direct costs using established pricing data.
• Maintain cost models and estimating databases to support proposal development.
• Revise estimates as project scope or customer needs change.
• Prepare compliant cost‑reimbursable estimates for government proposals and contracts.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, subcontractors and vendors to collect cost data.
• Support proposal pricing activities for domestic and international government opportunities.
• Provide quality assurance throughout the estimating process and assist with audit documentation.
• Mentor less‑experienced estimators and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum of four years of construction estimating or government contracting estimating experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop construction cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
