Medical Laboratory Technologist

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technologist will perform, interpret, validate, and report a wide range of laboratory investigations across core disciplines such as chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology. The role ensures accurate, timely patient results while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests following approved SOPs.
• Receive, accession, process, and preserve patient specimens with full traceability.
• Execute daily, weekly, and scheduled preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments.
• Run internal quality controls, investigate out‑of‑range results, and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in external quality assessment and proficiency testing programs.
• Verify, validate, and release results within authorized scope.
• Maintain comprehensive laboratory records, instrument logs, and QC documentation.
• Utilize the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for test ordering, result entry, verification, and reporting.
• Handle, store, transport, and dispose of specimens and biohazardous materials safely.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, ISO 15189, and other regulatory accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related biological field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a CAP or ISO 15189 accredited laboratory.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems and electronic reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
