Structural Design Engineer

About the role

The Coastal Engineering and Management team at Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to lead design activities on land reclamation development projects. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality structural solutions for a variety of infrastructure types.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all structural design activities, including quality control and design checks.
• Provide engineering solutions for commercial, public, industrial, railway stations, retaining walls, and foundations.
• Conduct field work (limited), structural analysis, design, and reporting.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to capture and address requirements.
• Collaborate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and rail disciplines to ensure code compliance and fit‑for‑purpose designs.
• Interface with railway system designers to ensure compatibility with railway requirements.
• Prepare clear design reports, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.
• Review and verify CADD and drafting outputs related to structural design.
• Seal and certify all structural engineering designs and drawings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Professional registration.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design.
• Proficiency with CADD and drafting tools.
• Preparation of specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Knowledge of code compliance for commercial, industrial, and railway structures.
