Transportation Program Manager

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Transportation Program Manager to lead freight movement for a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will oversee land, sea, and air logistics, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple transportation assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Transportation, Material Handling Equipment, Movement Control, Airfield Control Group, Container Management, and Motor Pool Operations.
• Collaborate with project and construction teams to develop transportation plans, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and maintain effective communication throughout the transportation organization.
• Allocate on‑hand personnel and assets to meet surge and demobilization needs.
• Develop and train personnel on logistics processes as needed.
• Perform additional duties consistent with the position’s level and nature.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in military transportation centers/facilities, including at least 2 years in an OCONUS/combat‑zone management role.
• At least 3 years in a director or manager role overseeing operations.
• Strong knowledge of operational, maintenance, and administrative functions of industrial/commercial transportation programs.
• Valid passport (minimum 1‑year validity), ability to obtain required visas, and pass contract medical requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain facility credentials.
