Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Manager

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Manager to support a unique U.S. Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The manager oversees all operations, maintenance and personnel associated with AGE, ensuring assets stay operational, well maintained and compliant with safety protocols and directives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise inspection, maintenance, overhaul, repair and modification of AGE systems and equipment
• Lead AGE personnel, including technicians, supervisors and support staff
• Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with maintenance directives, policies and safety standards
• Develop schedules and work plans for preventive and corrective maintenance
• Monitor team performance, quality and adherence to deadlines and safety protocols
• Ensure staff know and apply mechanical principles, pneumatics, hydraulics, engines, refrigeration, heating and electrical/electronic systems
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals and blueprints
• Handle hazardous waste and materials in line with environmental compliance
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs and reports
• Provide training and mentorship, and act as liaison with other departments, contractors and leadership
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health standards, PPE use and hazard reporting

Required profile

• High school diploma (higher education preferred)
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in aviation maintenance focused on AGE
• Valid passport valid for at least one year at hire, able to obtain country-specific visas and pass contract medical requirements
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend English
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and meet medical, security and deployment requirements for a remote overseas location

Required skills

• Knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, engines, refrigeration, heating and electrical/electronic systems
• Reading of schematics, blueprints and technical manuals
• Understanding of hazardous waste handling regulations
• Leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills; familiarity with safety and environmental regulations
• Preferred: engineering degree, OSHA certification, military experience, knowledge of U.S. Navy/DoD standards, OCONUS experience, maintenance management software
