Cluster Director of Engineering

About the role

The Cluster Director of Engineering leads engineering and maintenance across two luxury resort properties, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all building systems while protecting the guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, spa facilities, staff areas and back‑of‑house operations.
• Manage engineering teams across both properties, set priorities, allocate resources and coordinate with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Security, Finance and People & Culture.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and fire safety regulations, conduct inspections, maintain emergency response procedures and supervise contractors.
• Prepare and manage operating and capital expenditure budgets, plan refurbishments and equipment replacements, review quotations and control project costs.
• Monitor utility consumption, identify opportunities to reduce energy and water use, and ensure guest‑related maintenance requests are prioritized.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related field.
• Significant engineering or facilities management experience, preferably within luxury hotels or resorts.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets, contractors and capital projects.
• Strong working knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance and workplace safety.
• Excellent planning, problem‑solving, communication and leadership skills.
