About the role
The Legal Officer will provide expert legal opinions and guidance to ensure that the organisation's policies, regulations and operations comply with all applicable laws and regulatory standards. This role supports the Financial Services Authority in maintaining a robust legal framework for the financial services sector.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal opinions and inputs on laws administered by the organisation.
- Liaise with the Attorney General’s Office and the organisation’s lawyer to obtain relevant legal interpretations.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, memoranda of understanding and other legal documents.
- Support the preparation and review of new legislation, cabinet memoranda, codes and guidelines.
- Coordinate with the organisation’s lawyer for legal representation and attend court sessions when required.
- Monitor current legislation affecting the financial services industry and advise on necessary compliance actions.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Required profile
- Degree in Law (minimum qualification).
