Resident Technical Officer – Mechanical & Electrical

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer (M&E) will support consultants and clients by supervising construction works, ensuring quality, and guaranteeing compliance with approved designs. This onsite position requires close coordination with other disciplines and active problem‑solving on the field.

Key responsibilities

• Assist consultants, professional engineers and clients in supervising and quality‑assuring M&E construction works.
• Provide standing supervision as required and ensure installations match approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with RE and RTO of other disciplines and liaise with contractors/sub‑contractors.
• Identify discrepancies, resolve site M&E issues, and monitor progress.
• Report site progress and irregularities to consultants/clients.
• Participate in site meetings, inspections, testing and commissioning.
• Verify as‑built drawings against actual installations.
• Ensure contractors maintain safety, cleanliness and tidiness on site.
• Document inspection records, testing & commissioning records, and meeting minutes.

Required profile

• ITE/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Registered with IES/ACES as a Resident Technical Officer.
• 5–8 years of M&E experience in a Resident Technical Officer capacity.
• Familiarity with local construction practices for air‑conditioning, electrical, ELV, fire protection, plumbing, sanitary services and BMS.
• Strong coordination, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and a team player.
