Senior Material Tester – Laboratory

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Material Tester to join our laboratory team in Pretoria. You will be responsible for testing materials, maintaining equipment, and supporting quality assurance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Test materials according to relevant test methods.
• Verify and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Provide practical training to other laboratory staff.
• Receive materials, perform housekeeping, and report damaged or out‑of‑spec equipment.
• Report non‑conformities to the Quality Manager and document deviations.
• Collect, maintain, and sign off on test data for correctness and transfer.
• Identify risks, opportunities for improvement, and participate in validation/verification of test methods.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in a laboratory testing environment.
• Ability to follow and enforce quality management procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping skills.
• Capability to train and mentor junior staff.

• Data capture, processing, and retrieval for test results.
