Bartender – Full‑time Bar Service at Indian Ocean Lodge

About the role

The Bartender is a full‑time, on‑site role at Indian Ocean Lodge in Victoria, responsible for delivering a high‑quality bar experience that aligns with the hotel’s hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages to guests, following recipes and drink‑pairing recommendations.
• Recommend drinks based on guest preferences and ensure accurate cash handling and POS transactions.
• Maintain bar cleanliness, stock supplies, and adhere to food‑and‑beverage safety guidelines.
• Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner and support the restaurant and bar team during peak service hours.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service focus with effective verbal communication.
• Previous experience in a hotel, resort or bar environment is preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Understanding of responsible alcohol service and local regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in bartending techniques, cocktail preparation and beverage presentation.
• Accurate cash handling and operation of POS systems.
