Claims Handler

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Claims Handler to join MUA’s insurance team. The role involves guiding clients through the claims settlement process and ensuring timely, accurate resolution of claims across our operations in Mauritius, Seychelles and East Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and process insurance claims within established service timelines.
• Guide clients, brokers and other stakeholders through each step of the settlement process.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, brokers, surveyors, garages, insurers, spare‑parts suppliers and other service providers.
• Track claims from registration to final settlement, ensuring compliance with policy terms and legal requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to secure necessary documentation and approvals.
• Ensure timely payments and deliver excellent customer service throughout the claims lifecycle.

Required profile

• A‑Level / Higher School Certificate.
• Minimum two years of experience in claims handling within the insurance sector.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and French.
• Customer‑oriented, proactive and dynamic personality.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
