Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist) ensures that user‑generated content on the platform complies with policies, legal standards, and community expectations. Working remotely, you will protect the online environment from abusive, hateful, misleading, or graphic material while supporting a respectful user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported text, images, and videos, focusing on high‑priority queues and edge cases.
• Monitor daily queues to detect emerging abuse patterns and promptly alert the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool efficiency and suggest workflow improvements.
• Maintain a decision‑accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistent policy application.
• Investigate removal or suspension appeals and make fair reinstatement decisions.
• Serve as a designated responder during “red‑alert” incidents such as graphic live streams or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or community management for a major tech/social media platform.
• High emotional resilience and proven strategies for digital wellness when reviewing disturbing content.
• Deep understanding of regional cultural nuances and the ability to differentiate hate speech from protected political expression.
• Demonstrated ability to sustain quality metrics while processing 80‑100+ content items per hour.

Required skills

• Proficiency with moderation platforms such as Hive, Besedo, and Salesforce.
• Strong command of Google Workspace tools.
