Electrician – Hotel Engineering

About the role

The hotel is seeking a qualified Electrician to ensure the reliable operation, maintenance and repair of all electrical systems across the property. You will work within the Engineering department, reporting to the Director of Engineering, and will be responsible for both routine and emergency tasks in a 48‑hour work week.

Key responsibilities

• Install, alter, maintain and repair high‑ and low‑voltage wiring, transformers, motors, pumps and other electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical plans, draw circuit diagrams and design functional circuitry for hotel systems.
• Diagnose and correct electrical defects, perform routine maintenance on generators and water‑plant equipment, and keep accurate records of fuel and water usage.
• Monitor switchboards, instruments and distribution systems to detect disturbances and ensure efficient power delivery.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment, adhere to company safety guidelines and attend to shift duties, including extended hours when required.

Required skills

• Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical wiring systems (high and low voltage).
• Reading and interpreting electrical plans and creating circuit diagrams.
• Electrical troubleshooting and defect detection.
• Generator operation, fuel tracking and water‑plant monitoring.
