Facility Lead – Structural & Paint Maintenance

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Facility Lead, Structural / Paint to manage the upkeep of structures and painted surfaces for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will ensure facilities remain in good condition, prevent deterioration, and extend asset life through timely maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee structural repairs, painting, and preventative maintenance across all designated facilities.
• Monitor condition of buildings, structures, and painted surfaces; identify and correct deficiencies such as rust, peeling, or corrosion.
• Plan and prioritize repair schedules, allocate resources, and meet contract deadlines.
• Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders to align maintenance activities.
• Supervise a team of skilled workers, providing guidance on repairs, refinishing, and coating applications.
• Apply protective coatings, ensuring proper surface preparation and durability.
• Maintain accurate records of all activities in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in structural maintenance, facility painting, or rehabilitation.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Journeyman‑level qualification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
