Fishing Guide & Deck Hand (Full‑time, Victoria, Seychelles)

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position supports daily yacht operations in Victoria, Seychelles. The Fishing Guide / Deck Hand prepares fishing equipment, assists with docking, and ensures a safe, welcoming experience for high‑end guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and rig fishing gear, including tackle, bait and catch handling.
• Guide guests on fishing trips, delivering safety briefings and technique advice.
• Assist with docking, mooring, line handling, fender placement and anchoring.
• Keep decks, equipment and storage areas clean, orderly and safe.
• Support guest service onboard, including embarkation, disembarkation and refreshment service.
• Perform basic maintenance checks, report technical issues and aid provisioning.
• Collaborate with the captain and crew, following directions and adapting to changing sea conditions.

Required profile

• Practical boating and deck experience, including line handling, anchoring and basic knots.
• Solid knowledge of local fish species and sustainable fishing practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for guest briefings.
• High safety awareness and compliance with maritime regulations.
• Physical fitness to work on deck in hot, humid conditions for extended periods.
• Ability to work effectively in a small crew and follow the captain’s instructions.
