Head Therapist – Luxury Spa

About the role

The Spa Head Therapist / Trainer leads the spa team in delivering premium treatments while coaching therapists to uphold the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction. This role supports the Spa Director and Spa Manager in achieving financial targets and operational excellence within a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and coach the therapist team through daily supervision, performance reviews and competency evaluations.
• Design and deliver comprehensive training programs covering treatments, products, wellness programs and guest service standards.
• Perform spa treatments according to SOPs, ensuring each guest interaction exceeds expectations.
• Monitor treatment quality, conduct audits and maintain up‑to‑date training records.
• Drive retail sales and treatment upgrades, support inventory control and assist with scheduling and room preparation.

Required profile

• Diploma or certification in Spa Therapy, Massage Therapy, Beauty Therapy or Wellness Management.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a spa therapist in a luxury setting; at least 1 year in a supervisory or trainer role preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of massage therapies, body treatments, facials and related wellness therapies.
• Strong training, coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent communication and retail sales skills.
• Leadership and team‑management capability.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with spa software.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
