Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist will design and operate pipelines that transform unstructured and semi‑structured content into clean, structured datasets. Working remotely, you will apply NLP, machine‑learning and rule‑based techniques to a wide range of document types for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain extraction pipelines for legal contracts, medical records, financial reports, news articles and technical documentation.
• Create and manage high‑quality training data, define annotation schemas, lead annotation teams and ensure data quality.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall and F1, analyse errors and iterate on models, data or guidelines.
• Assess, integrate and customise open‑source or commercial extraction tools and platforms.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems quickly to new domains, acquiring necessary domain knowledge and updating guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP or computational linguistics.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Hands‑on experience with annotation schema design and quality assurance.
• Ability to document complex guidelines clearly and communicate technical concepts in English.
• Proven track record of analysing model errors and delivering data‑driven improvements.
