Policy and Data Internship

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator System in Mauritius and Seychelles is seeking a motivated intern to support policy research, data analysis, advocacy and communications activities. This six‑month internship offers a unique chance to understand how the UN system operates at the country level and to contribute to the implementation of the UNSDCF 2024‑2028.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct policy research and draft briefs, minutes, and advocacy materials.
• Support communications and visibility initiatives, including drafting content and preparing presentations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and assist in organizing policy‑related events and campaigns.
• Assist the RCO Team Leader with administrative tasks related to policy and advocacy work.

Required profile

• Strong interest in UN development work and policy coordination.
• Enthusiasm for learning about UN agencies, country programming processes, and government interaction.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in an office environment.
• Availability to work on‑site in Victoria, Seychelles (remote support may be considered).
