Pool Technician

About the role

The Pool Technician will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance and safety of the hotel’s swimming pools. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the role ensures water quality, equipment functionality and a hazard‑free environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Work a 48‑hour week with scheduled breaks as per staff canteen policy.
• Clean and monitor all assigned swimming pools.
• Test pool water daily, maintain records and ensure water quality meets required standards.
• Inspect pool areas for hazards and keep them clean.
• Monitor water consumption and report abnormalities.
• Maintain stock levels of chemicals and tools, placing orders when needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on filters, pumps, dosing systems and chlorinators.
• Carry out repairs on existing pool systems and ensure compliance with current safety and plumbing regulations.
• Maintain a detailed work log and produce reports of activities performed.
• Communicate with clients and team members regarding task status and timelines.
