Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, integration, and management of road crash data systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance in West Africa. The role will ensure harmonised data collection, interoperability, and evidence‑based road safety monitoring across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection, database management, and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance, and road‑infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards, and road‑safety analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting tools, and monitoring systems for road‑safety performance.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports, and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers, and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, technical training, and capacity‑building activities.
• Support monitoring, reporting, and analytical outputs related to crash data management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, information systems, transport analytics or digital monitoring.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems, data interoperability, or road‑safety observatories.
• Proven experience on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
