Sommelier – Luxury Resort

About the role

Constance Ephelia, a five‑star resort on Mahé, Seychelles, is seeking a passionate Sommelier to elevate the wine experience for discerning guests. You will curate the wine list, provide expert recommendations, and collaborate closely with the culinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert wine recommendations, conduct tastings, and create engaging guest experiences.
• Develop and maintain a balanced, trend‑aware wine list aligned with the resort’s culinary philosophy.
• Execute flawless wine service, manage inventory, and ensure proper storage and presentation.
• Partner with chefs to design food‑and‑wine pairings and support special dining events.
• Lead wine seminars for guests and staff, and organise wine‑focused promotions.
• Negotiate with suppliers, maintain relationships, and control costs.

Required profile

• Advanced wine certification (WSET or Court of Master Sommeliers).
• 3–5 years of sommelier experience in luxury hotels or fine‑dining establishments.
• Fluency in English, French and Russian (written and spoken).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals and production.
• Proficiency with POS systems and MS Office for inventory and reporting.
• Expertise in wine list curation, cost control and supplier negotiation.
