Sommelier – Luxury Resort & Villa Hospitality

About the role

Working closely with the Chef Sommelier, the Sommelier will ensure the highest quality of the wine program for the Maison, driving beverage revenue through innovative marketing and guest-focused service. The role involves managing inventory, presenting the wine list, and guiding guests to optimal selections in a luxury resort setting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and replenish wine inventory, storing bottles at appropriate temperatures.
• Discuss wines with guests, recommend pairings, and upsell wine, cocktails, and digestives.
• Keep the professional wine list up‑to‑date weekly and promote wine events.
• Support the Chef Sommelier with operational and administrative tasks related to the wine program.
• Anticipate guest needs, provide prompt service, and uphold the Maison’s standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in hospitality and catering.
• Minimum three years experience in a luxury establishment, with at least two years in a similar sommelier role.
• WSET Level 3 (or equivalent) certification.
• First‑aid qualification.
• Proven leadership ability and experience managing high‑volume cellars.
