SWMC Equipment Operator – Solid Waste Management

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified SWMC Equipment Operator to support a US Navy solid waste management program on Diego Garcia. The role involves safely operating and maintaining automotive vehicles and specialized equipment used for waste handling and transport.

Key responsibilities

• Operate automotive vehicles and solid waste management equipment in compliance with NAVFAC P‑300 and 49 CFR Parts 383 and 391.
• Transport waste‑related loads, ensuring proper handling, safety, and adherence to waste‑management protocols.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑operation equipment checks, routine inspections, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment use, maintenance activities, and load transportation.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize tasks and meet operational requirements.
• Comply with all safety guidelines, licensing regulations, and facility credentialing requirements.

Required profile

• Valid, current licenses for operating automotive vehicles and related equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain country‑specific visas and pass contract medical requirements.
• Proficiency in English sufficient to perform contract duties.
