Transportation Operations Supervisor

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Transportation Operations Supervisor to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role oversees daily transportation activities, ensuring mission‑critical logistics are executed safely and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise vehicle dispatching, fleet management, and logistics coordination.
• Schedule and dispatch transportation equipment to meet operational demands.
• Ensure compliance with government, military, and FMCSR regulations.
• Oversee vehicle inspection and maintenance programs.
• Assign tasks, mentor drivers, and resolve workforce issues.
• Collect and maintain data on fleet usage, maintenance, and personnel assignments.
• Respond to dispatch requests and unscheduled transportation needs.
• Manage transportation of HAZMAT, heavy equipment, and other regulated materials.
• Communicate schedules, concerns, and reports to management and stakeholders.
• Provide customer support and assist with emergency response logistics.

Required profile

• Experience supervising transportation or fleet operations, preferably in a government or military environment.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSR, DOT regulations, and Navy transportation guidance.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and resolve conflicts within a team.
• Commitment to occupational safety, PPE use, and zero‑injury standards.
