VASS Analyst – Virtual Asset Services Supervision

About the role

The Virtual Asset Services Supervision (VASS) Analyst will support the Section’s Manager in overseeing the registration, licensing and ongoing supervision of entities providing virtual asset services. The role involves evaluating applications, conducting inspections and contributing to regulatory policy development within the Financial Services Authority.

Key responsibilities

• Process and assess registration, licensing and “fit and proper” applications in line with established guidelines.
• Collaborate with other sections to ensure consistent application of regulatory standards.
• Conduct field inspections and desk‑based reviews of licensees to verify compliance.
• Compile data, analyse findings and provide recommendations for enforcement actions.
• Represent the Section in meetings with customers, stakeholders and external partners.
• Participate in technical missions, conferences and training programmes locally and abroad.
• Stay current with industry legislation, guidelines and policies.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and strategic plans.
• Undertake market research to enhance the regulatory framework.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACAMS or ICA Compliance is desirable.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
