Medium Voltage Electrician – US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Medium Voltage Electrician to support a critical United States Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing medium‑voltage electrical systems to ensure reliable power distribution in a demanding environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot and repair medium‑voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, underground cables and distribution panels.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints and technical manuals to determine correct work procedures.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all medium‑voltage assets.
• Conduct inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
• Document inspections, repairs and system performance in accordance with operational procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines and operational goals.

Required profile

• Completed a three‑year apprenticeship in the electrician trade or a related field.
• Minimum three years of documented experience with medium‑voltage electrical systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend English for contract requirements and emergency procedures.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity and willingness to travel internationally.
