Railway Operation & Transport Planning Expert

About the role

We are seeking a Railway Operation & Transport Planning Expert to lead the design and recommendation of station yard layouts, maintenance facilities, passenger amenities, freight and container handling solutions for upcoming railway projects. The role works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless project outcomes and support the financial success of construction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare transport planning studies for existing and future corridors, including analysis reports and TOR deliverables.
• Coordinate with experts from various disciplines, sub‑consultants, employers, agencies and other stakeholders.
• Assess current and projected transport demand, identify bottlenecks, and evaluate options for capacity creation.
• Develop passenger and freight transport models to support capacity building.
• Produce detailed analysis reports based on project data and findings.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in railway sector.
• At least 8 years in feasibility and design consultancy.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar senior role.
• Preferable experience working in the SAARC region.
