UICAP Mapping Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a UICAP Mapping Technician to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on creating, updating, and maintaining utility maps, schematics, and one‑line diagrams using NAVFAC‑approved GIS tools.

Key responsibilities

• Update utility maps, schematics and one‑line diagrams within 10 days of notification, ensuring revision dates and compliance with government standards.
• Use NAVFAC ArcGIS to develop and maintain GIS‑based utility system maps, adhering to the Data Collection Guide (DCG).
• Export AutoCAD drawings from GIS datasets, preserving proper formatting and usability.
• Maintain features with the latest NAVFAC NDM version and ensure data quality meets NAVFAC and NSF DG Utilities Department standards.
• Provide updated maps, schematics and diagrams on request with immediate turnaround.
• Submit all documentation to the Technical Library in accordance with Section F.
• Coordinate mapping requirements with the NSF Diego Garcia Utilities Department.
• Perform quality assurance and control on GIS data and utility maps.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in GIS mapping, utility mapping or technical drafting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with NAVFAC ArcGIS software.
• Experience using AutoCAD for utility drawings.
• Familiarity with GIS data management and the Data Collection Guide (DCG) requirements.
• Competence with Microsoft Office Suite.
