Firefighter

About the role

The Firefighter protects lives and property by responding to fires, vehicle accidents, natural disasters, and hazardous material incidents. This role requires rapid decision‑making, physical stamina, and teamwork in high‑stress environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform search, rescue, and fire‑fighting operations for fires, accidents, floods, bomb incidents, and dangerous substance spills.
• Operate emergency response vehicles, hand and power tools, ladders, hoses, pumps, foam generators, and specialized nozzles.
• Conduct salvage and overhaul activities to minimize damage after incidents.
• Participate in station drills, emergency‑procedure training, and hazardous‑materials response.
• Maintain and service fire‑fighting equipment and respond to calls on short notice.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of fire‑fighting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IFSAC, DOD, Pro‑Board Fire Fighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations, ARFF, Driver Operator qualifications).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain state fire‑fighter certification.
• Physical ability to perform interior structural firefighting and work in remote, uncomfortable conditions.

Required skills

• Operate fire pumps, foam generators, and water‑charged hose lines.
• Use hand and power tools for ventilation, ladder placement, and hose deployment.
• Drive and operate emergency response vehicles safely.
• Respond to hazardous‑materials emergencies according to protocols.
• Perform rescue and fire‑suppression techniques under hazardous conditions.
