Functional Support Specialist - HR/Payroll

About the role

As a Functional Support Specialist you will deliver quality, timely services during and after implementation of FreeBalance products for government customers. You will act as the primary contact for clients, helping them maximise the value of the software.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate responses to customer requests.
• Analyze customer issues and requirements and facilitate appropriate solutions.
• Tailor software solutions using FreeBalance software based on business requirements.
• Learn clients’ environments and assist them in fully utilising the product.
• Serve as the primary support contact during deployment and post‑implementation phases.
• Develop and deliver functional training to clients.
• Support proposal development and give feedback to Sales, Product Management and Development on future product needs.
• Develop or modify custom solutions, including forms and reports.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of payroll experience and familiarity with HR systems.
• Human Resources or Financial designation (e.g., PCP, CPM, CMA, CGA) and experience with a large national accounting or ERP firm is an asset.
• Experience in business process re‑engineering and large‑scale IT system introductions.
• 3 + years of ERP software implementation experience (desirable).
• Experience with ANSI SQL scripts and Jaspersoft iReports / Crystal Reports is a plus.
• Previous work with government organisations is an asset.
• Strong understanding of HR, payroll, budgeting, accounting and cash‑management processes, especially in the public sector.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Candidate must be based in Seychelles.
