Apheresis Nurse

About the role

Euromedical Family Clinic is building a therapeutic apheresis service and is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the team as a founding member of the unit. You will run apheresis procedures alongside the supervising physician and help set up and standardise the service from the start.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, prime and operate apheresis and plasmapheresis systems (TPE, double-filtration and related extracorporeal procedures)
• Assess patients before procedures, manage vascular access (peripheral and central lines) and care for access sites
• Monitor patients during treatment and recognise and manage adverse events such as citrate toxicity, hypotension, vasovagal and allergic reactions
• Keep accurate procedure records, fluid balance and anticoagulation documentation
• Manage consumables and equipment readiness, and coordinate maintenance with vendors
• Help write SOPs, infection-control protocols and quality documentation for regulatory compliance
• Educate patients and support training of other nursing staff

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (BSc Nursing or equivalent), eligible for registration with the Seychelles Nursing and Midwifery Council
• At least 2 years of hands-on apheresis or plasmapheresis experience; dialysis, ICU or transfusion-medicine background is an advantage
• Fluent English
• Able to work independently and help build a new service

Required skills

• Proficiency in vascular access and IV therapy
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred
