Assistant Director of Rooms

About the role

The Assistant Director of Rooms supports the Rooms Division leadership at Four Seasons’ Desroches Island resort, ensuring seamless operations across all guest‑facing areas and upholding the brand’s luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage Department Heads within the Rooms Division and ensure clear communication of hotel initiatives.
• Interview, train, and develop staff; conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Monitor and adjust staff schedules across all Rooms Division departments to meet service standards.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs, inspect all areas of responsibility, and recommend improvements.
• Implement and enforce Four Seasons Rooms and Residential Policies and Procedures.
• Resolve guest complaints in person, by phone, or in writing, delivering the highest level of hospitality.
• Assist guests with inquiries about hotel services, operations, and events, responding promptly and accurately.
• Ensure financial goals are met by monitoring labor, supplies, and equipment expenses.
• Collaborate with Reservations, Sales, and Front Office teams to maximize rate and occupancy.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a hotel Rooms Division or similar environment.
• Ability to interview, train, and evaluate staff performance.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills for handling guest and employee issues.
• Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses.
