Chaplain (Priest) – Spiritual Care for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Chaplain (Priest) to provide spiritual care, pastoral counseling, and religious support to personnel and families stationed on the US Navy installation at Diego Garcia. The role serves a diverse, multi‑faith community and acts as a trusted advisor on ethical and moral matters.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver non‑denominational worship services, rites, ceremonies, and observances.
• Provide confidential pastoral counseling, crisis intervention, grief support, and emotional care.
• Plan and facilitate group worship, prayer meetings, religious education classes, and faith‑based programs.
• Advise leadership on ethical, moral, spiritual, and resiliency issues affecting readiness.
• Maintain accurate ministry records and ensure compliance with Navy, Amentum, and contract standards.
• Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and leadership teams to support overall wellbeing.
• Participate in emergency response, crisis management, and deployment support activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced theological education preferred.
• 1‑3 years experience in pastoral ministry, chaplaincy, or spiritual leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to provide confidential counseling to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Valid passport.
