Dental Assistant – US Navy Program on Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Dental Assistant to support a unique U.S. Navy dental program on the island of Diego Garcia. You will provide chair‑side assistance, manage dental records, and ensure a safe, efficient clinic environment for service members and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate medical/dental records for all personnel arriving on Diego Garcia.
• Assemble documentation including pre‑employment physicals, dental evaluations, x‑rays, and treatment histories.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist during procedures.
• Capture dental radiographs following safety and quality protocols.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene guidance and post‑treatment instructions.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure compliance with infection‑control standards.
• Support government inspections by providing timely access to records.

Required profile

• Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of dental assisting experience, including chair‑side assistance and x‑ray work.
• Strong attention to detail in record‑keeping and compliance with U.S. government regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote, military‑supported environment.
