Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert to lead the digital transformation component of the EU‑funded “Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance” project. The role will focus on integrating artificial intelligence and digital platforms into transport governance systems across West Africa, supporting sustainable and smart mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital transformation strategies and smart transport governance solutions.
• Provide technical assistance for AI integration, predictive analytics, and digital decision‑support tools in transport, logistics and infrastructure.
• Design AI‑enabled monitoring tools, smart monitoring systems and data‑driven decision‑making platforms.
• Advise on automation, digital interoperability, data governance and innovation frameworks.
• Support digitalisation of corridor monitoring, customs, road safety, transport observatories and infrastructure management.
• Prepare technical specifications, innovation roadmaps and operational guidelines.
• Deliver workshops, technical training and capacity‑building activities for ECOWAS institutions and partners.
• Coordinate with ECOWAS bodies, ICT providers, transport agencies and development partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Data Science or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in digital transformation, AI or smart infrastructure systems.
• At least 7 years of experience in AI systems, smart governance platforms or related digital transformation projects.
• Proven experience delivering digitalisation projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
