3rd Engineer (Marine)

About the role

We are looking for a 3rd Engineer to join the engineering team on our new Aqua Lares operation. The successful candidate will ensure safe and efficient engine‑room operations, support maintenance activities and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute maintenance and repair of auxiliary engines, pumps, purifiers and sewage‑treatment plants.
• Stand watch in the engine room, respond promptly to alarms and technical irregularities.
• Monitor fuel, lube oil and water levels, record soundings and optimise consumption.
• Maintain accurate engine‑room logs, maintenance records and inventory updates.
• Verify that safety equipment, emergency shut‑offs and fire‑fighting systems are operational.
• Manage spare‑part and tool inventories to support the engineering team.
• Apply MARPOL regulations and company environmental policies during all operations and bunkering.

Required profile

• Valid STCW III/1 (Officer in Charge of an Engine) certification.
• Relevant marine engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in an engine‑room environment on commercial vessels.
