3rd Engineer – Marine Vessel

About the role

The 3rd Engineer joins Aqua Expeditions' new operation Aqua Lares, ensuring safe and efficient engine‑room operations during assigned watches. Reporting to the 1st Engineer and Chief Engineer, the role focuses on executing the planned maintenance system and maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems within safety parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Execute maintenance and repair of auxiliary engines, pumps, purifiers, and sewage‑treatment plants.
• Maintain a vigilant engine‑room watch, responding promptly to alarms and technical irregularities.
• Monitor fuel, lube oil, and water levels, ensuring accurate soundings and efficient consumption.
• Assist in keeping precise engine‑room logs, maintenance records, and inventory updates.
• Ensure all safety equipment, emergency shut‑offs, and fire‑fighting systems are fully operational.
• Manage spare‑part and tool inventories to support engineering repairs.
• Follow MARPOL regulations and company environmental policies during operations and bunkering.

Required profile

• Valid STCW III/1 certification (Officer in Charge of an Engine).
• Experience in marine engine‑room operations and watch‑keeping.
• Knowledge of MARPOL environmental regulations.
