Director of Sustainability

About the role

The Director of Sustainability will lead and embed sustainability initiatives across Six Senses Zil Pasyon, ensuring that both guest and host programs achieve maximum impact. Reporting to the General Manager, you will safeguard the resort’s sustainability pillar while fostering community engagement and responsible luxury travel.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all sustainability projects, guaranteeing they are fully embraced, adopted and implemented throughout the resort.
• Manage the monthly Sustainability Fund, ensuring transparent collection, allocation and documentation of supported initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools, NGOs, government bodies and tourism associations.
• Engage the local community through regular outreach, educational activities and fund‑supported projects.
• Design and deliver monthly sustainability events for staff, promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.
• Connect the property with global sustainability events such as Earth Day, World Ocean Day and Global Shoreline Clean‑Up.
• Identify, nurture and expand partnerships with sustainability‑focused organisations, securing both financial and in‑kind support.
• Collaborate with the Experiences team to create guest‑focused sustainability experiences that showcase local culture and environmental initiatives.
• Implement operational practices aligned with Six Senses sustainability policies and monitor financial returns, profitability and ROIC.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading sustainability programmes in hospitality or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of environmental stewardship, community engagement and fund management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote island environment.
