Cashier for US Navy Mess Operations

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Cashier to support a US Navy mess program on Diego Garcia. The role involves managing cash and payment transactions, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense procedures, and delivering excellent customer service to patrons.

Key responsibilities

• Handle cash, checks, and other payment forms, verify patron eligibility, and process transactions according to published meal rates.
• Obtain patron signatures and complete DoD Form 1544 Cash Meal Payment Book for each meal period.
• Document cash collections in NAVSUP Form 470 Cash Receipt Book and prepare deposits with the Daily Activity Report.
• Complete DoD Form 1131 Cash Collection Voucher for each deposit and transfer funds to the designated Government account.
• Maintain accurate financial records, receipts, and reports in line with contractual requirements.
• Perform routine checks on daily transactions to verify accuracy and compliance.
• Provide clear, courteous service in English, addressing patron inquiries and resolving concerns.
• Execute additional duties as assigned that align with the position’s scope.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a cashier, accounting, or financial services role.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent customer‑service abilities and effective communication in English.
• Ability to complete required training and certifications (Customer Service, CPR, First Aid) with annual recertification.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to travel internationally.
