Technical Librarian (Facilities)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Technical Librarian to manage a centralized technical library that supports facilities and infrastructure operations for a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures that all technical documents, drawings, and manuals are current, accurately catalogued, and readily available to engineering and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and issue technical documentation, including engineering drawings, equipment manuals, and manufacturer data.
• Implement document control processes, version control, and compliance with Navy standards.
• Support and administer electronic document management systems (EDMS) for storage and dissemination.
• Conduct regular audits, updates, and retention procedures for all technical materials.
• Develop library workflow procedures, archive setups, and security protocols for controlled materials.
• Train staff and contractors on library usage and electronic resource access.
• Stay informed on industry best practices for technical library management and propose improvements.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience managing technical libraries, document control, or related roles in facilities or engineering environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain them throughout deployment.
• Valid passport (minimum one year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
