Bar Manager - Luxury Resort

About the role

Constance Ephelia, a luxury resort on the island of Mahé in Seychelles, is looking for an experienced Bar Manager to oversee all bar operations, lead a team of bartenders and bar staff and deliver exceptional service to international guests. The role covers profitability, inventory and compliance while maintaining the highest hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, train and supervise bar staff, ensuring consistent service standards across all shifts
• Manage stock control, ordering and inventory to minimise wastage and maximise profitability
• Develop bar procedures, policies and protocols in line with organisational standards and health and safety regulations
• Create and manage bar menus, including signature cocktails and beverage selections
• Monitor cash handling, reconcile tills and ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting
• Maintain knowledge of spirits, wines and beers to give expert recommendations to guests
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, responsible service of alcohol and health and safety requirements
• Analyse sales data and guest feedback to improve service and revenue
• Support events and functions with other departments, keep the bar clean and organise guest complaints professionally
• Carry out regular staff appraisals and provide ongoing training

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or a related field
• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar senior bar role in a luxury hospitality environment
• Leadership and people skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by resort operations

Required skills

• Deep understanding of spirits, beer and classic or craft mixology
• Knowledge of bar operations, beverage management and mixology
• POS systems and bar management software
• Cash handling and financial management
• Health and safety regulations and responsible alcohol service
• Communication, problem-solving and attention to detail

Desirable: experience in luxury resorts, mixology and cocktail creation, staff training programmes and event coordination.
