Kitchen and Laundry Technician

About the role

Constance Ephelia, a resort on the island of Mahé in Seychelles, is looking for a detail-oriented Kitchen and Laundry Technician to join its operations team. This is a permanent position in which the technician maintains the highest standards of kitchen and laundry operations, with a commitment to hygiene and safety in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and service commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers and food preparation machinery.
• Test and maintain kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, chilled water systems, pumps and boilers.
• Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk-in coolers, freezers and ovens.
• Operate and maintain industrial laundry equipment including washing machines, dryers, ironing machines, steam equipment and pressing machines.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen and laundry facilities daily in line with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot and repair as needed, and keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs and servicing schedules.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate with external maintenance providers when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene protocols in the kitchen, and follow health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Work with kitchen and housekeeping staff to keep operations running smoothly.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in kitchen and laundry maintenance (preferred).
• Proven experience operating and maintaining industrial laundry equipment.
• Previous experience in a hospitality or resort environment.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in demanding environments.
