Kitchen and Laundry Technician

About the role

Constance Ephelia, a resort on the island of Mahé in Seychelles, is looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Kitchen and Laundry Technician to join its operations team. This is a permanent position in which the technician maintains the highest standards of kitchen and laundry operations across the resort, working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and service commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers and food preparation machinery.
• Attend to, repair and maintain kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC, chilled water systems, pumps and boilers, including walk-in coolers, freezers and ovens.
• Maintain and repair industrial laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, ironing machines, steam equipment and pressing machines.
• Carry out daily cleaning and sanitisation of kitchen and laundry facilities in line with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot and repair as needed, and keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs and servicing schedules.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene protocols in the kitchen, and respond to breakdowns, coordinating with external maintenance providers when necessary.
• Work with kitchen and housekeeping staff to support seamless service delivery across the resort.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in kitchen and laundry maintenance (preferred).
• Proven experience operating and maintaining industrial laundry equipment.
• Previous experience in a hospitality or resort environment.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in demanding environments.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Familiarity with cleaning and sanitisation protocols.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance requirements.
• Experience with equipment maintenance scheduling and record-keeping.
