Monitoring and Surveillance Analyst

About the role

The Monitoring and Surveillance Analyst will support the AML/CFT Unit in overseeing reporting entities, ensuring that monitoring and surveillance activities are accurate, timely, and compliant with AML/CFT regulations. This role combines data analysis, on‑site inspections, and regulatory liaison to help detect and prevent money laundering and terrorism financing.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the AML/CFT Unit’s Manager and Director to validate and analyse data from supervision activities.
• Assist in conducting on‑site inspections of reporting entities, evaluating technical compliance and effectiveness of controls.
• Support off‑site thematic reviews to ensure adherence to AML/CFT legislation, codes, and guidelines.
• Develop and improve internal procedures for monitoring and surveillance activities.
• Manage requests for regulatory assistance from foreign authorities, tracking receipt, collection, and disclosure of data.
• Record and maintain data related to regulatory assistance requests.

Required profile

• Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, or ICA Certificate/Advanced Certificate in AML.
• Minimum two years of experience in a private‑sector monitoring function involving financial activity, open‑source intelligence, or screening.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including macros, data aggregation, and complex formulas.
• Knowledge of blockchain technology.
• Experience with open‑source intelligence and screening tools.
