Food & Beverage Hostess

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and attentive Food & Beverage Hostess to join the team at our exclusive resort on Desroches Island. The host/hostess will be the first point of contact for guests in the restaurant, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth seating experience.

Key responsibilities

• Set up the host/hostess stand, review the reservation book and make room‑set‑up recommendations.
• Receive and record guest reservations, assign tables and open the restaurant at the scheduled time each shift.
• Inspect the cleanliness of the dining room and private dining rooms, adjust as needed, and verify each table is properly set before opening.
• Prepare menus, insert them into covers, and check their condition and appearance.
• Develop thorough knowledge of the menus, ingredients and daily unavailable items.
• Assign seating according to service standards, taking server stations, workload capacity and timing patterns into account.
• Maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant.
• Greet each guest promptly with eye contact, a smile and proper posture, handle walk‑ins, waiting guests and lost‑and‑found items.
• Seat reservations promptly at appropriately set tables and manage chair arrangements.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a courteous and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, luxury hospitality environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including opening duties.

Required skills

• Proficiency with reservation and seating management processes.
• Knowledge of menu composition and daily specials.
